Photography Mini Sessions

~ Toronto mini photos ~

A couple of times a year I host portrait mini sessions. They are a fast (about 15 minutes) and an easy way to capture your memories - whether you're looking for your first family portrait, want a couple of updated pictures of your little ones or even a mini maternity session.

Minis are held a couple of times a year, usually in the spring and fall (and often a holiday-themed mini as well). To find out about my next mini session event, sign up for my email newsletter. They sell out super fast so it’s best to get on the list to be the first to know.

Minis are a wonderful option for many families but it's important to make sure they’re the best fit for your family. A couple of things to consider:

Your Expectations: If you're looking for a smaller number of photos and don't need as much variety, a mini session might be a great fit. In a typical mini session, you'll get to choose from about 20 images whereas a full session gives you a gallery of about 70 photos. While I'm usually able to cover several different family combos (e.g. kids only, family portrait, etc.), mini sessions are a bit "fast and furious" and we need to go with the flow more.

Your Kids: Mini sessions are best suited to families with children ages 6 months and up (since newborns are notoriously fickle about when they want to eat, sleep, and scream!). Mini sessions work out great for individual family units but extended family sessions are better suited to longer sessions. Finally, consider your children's unique personalities. Some kids are best in the first 15 minutes of a session whereas others take some time to warm up and would benefit from a more relaxed timeline.

Your Ideal Location: They are held at specific locations and on pre-determined dates; therefore, it's important to make sure that fits with your vision. If you have a dream location in mind, it's better to go with a regular session. It's also important to consider if punctuality is one of your strong suits: minis are scheduled back-to-back and unfortunately there isn't any wiggle room for late arrivals.

Your Budget: Mini sessions are a great choice for more budget-conscious families.

I’d love to see you at my next mini session in Toronto, so please add yourself to my email list or contact me with any questions.
